Slovak bus- rail crash kills 12
12 people have been killed in a collision between a train and a tourist coach in central Slovakia.
The accident happened on a level crossing near the village Polomka. Polomka is situated about 30 kilometers from district town Brezno in central Slovakia.The coach was traveling to a ski resort Polomka Bucnik. People from the coach are from district town Bánovce nad Bebravou in western Slovakia. The collision occurred at about nine hours.
In the coach there were 37 people. 12 people are dead and the others are injured. They were transported into near hospitals in Brezno, Revúca and Banská Bystica. The serious injured people are in the Roosvelt hospital in Banská Bystrica. There are 6 people .Among them there are one teenager and one 13-year-old child.
In the train there were about 20 people. All of them are slight injured . The train was going from Červená Skala.
The railway crossing was without light signals and also barriers to stop vehicles from crossing. It had only sign Pozor vlak .
Among dead people are 3 married couples and one teenager. People from the coach were traveling to skiing during this weekend. The Slovak government proclaimed the state mourning for tomorow Sunday.
