Amsterdam is the capital and largest city of the Netherlands. This city is the financial and cultural city. Amsterdam is the 5th busiest tourist destination in Europe. Amsterdam's main attractions include its historic canals, the Rijksmuseum, the Van Gogh Museum and Anne Frank. Amsterdam is the most watery city in the world. The city is known for its canals. There are the three main canals, Gentleman's Canal, Emperor's Canal and Prince’s Canal. Alongside the main canals are a lot of monumental buildings.

Amsterdam has a rich architectural history. The oldest building in Amsterdam is Houten Huys. This wooden building is one of only two existing wooden buildings. The square and the surrounding streets are full of bars, restaurants, outdoor cafes, theatres and dance clubs. Rembrandtplein is very popular with tourists and it is known as a butter market. Famous festivals in Amsterdam include the Queen's Day. It is a national holiday in the Netherlands and is known for its "free market" all over the country, where everybody is allowed to sell things in the streets. Family with children can visit the oldest Zoo of Netherlands. It consists of four main areas: Zoo, Planetarium, Botanical Gardens and Geological and Zoological museum. There you can find animals from all over the world. Another attraction is the largest city park. It is the Vondelpark, the most famous park in the Netherlands. Amsterdam has a number of beautiful, quiet parks where you can relax during the busy day in town. The most famous bridge is the Skinny Bridge, which is one of the most beautiful bridges of Amsterdam. Many lights illuminate this bridge at night and so it becomes a very romantic place for lovers or photographers. Amsterdam is one of the most bicycle friendly cities in the world and is a centre of bicycle culture with good facilities for cyclists such as bike paths and bike racks. Amsterdam is one of Europe's most popular destinations and offers a diverse selection of tourist attractions. It is one of the most romantic and beautiful cities in Europe.
