Tokyo

Japan's most famous city, full of magnificent modern skyscrapers and flashing neon lights, is Tokyo. Tokyo is the seat of the Japanese government and home of the Japanese Imperial Family. Tokyo is a modern and cosmopolitan city of electronics stores, large shopping complexes and a lot of bars and clubs. Tokyo has a rich history and tradition with shrines and temples, sushi and noodles, public bath houses and ryokans. Tokyo is one of the most famous and popular tourist destinations of the world. There are beautiful parks, gardens and a lot of historic sites. There are national parks as Meiji no Mori Takao Quasi-National Park, which is located around Mount Takao, and the Quasi-National Park. Tokyo is full of fascinating attractions. There are a lot of festivals and events during the year. Some of the major festivals include the Azaria Festival, Wisteria Festival or Kachiya Festival. Other popular attractions are the Tsukiji Fish Market, boat rides up the Sumida River and karaoke bars or the Tokyo Disney Land. The highest mountain in Japan is Mount Fuji. Mount Fuji is a well-known symbol of Japan and it is one of Japan's "Three Holy Mountains" along with Mount Tate and Mount Haku. Ueno Park is well known for its museums. There are located Tokyo National Museum, National Science Museum, Shitamachi Museum and National Museum for Western Art. The Tokyo National Museum is the oldest and largest museum in Japan. There is situated The Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building, also called as Tokyo City Hall, and The Tokyo Imperial Palace, which is the imperial main residence of the Emperor of Japan.



You can see there The National Diet Building. It is the place where both houses of the Diet of Japan meet. Sessions of the House of Representatives take place in the left wing and sessions of the House of Councillors in the right wing. The Jourenji Tempe has the prestigious history. Koku is a unit of rice measure. It is famous for its many stone statues and cultural artefacts, including a large bronze statue of Buddha known as the Tokyo Daibutsu. One of the 23 special wards of Tokyo is the Shinjuku. It is a major commercial and administrative centre, housing the busiest train station in the world. Surrounding Shinjuku Station are department stores, specialist electronic and camera shops, cinemas, restaurants and bars. There are located many international hotels. Another attraction is the Tokyo Tower, which is a communications and observation tower. It is the tallest steel structure in the world and the tallest artificial structure in Japan.
